Châteauguay County 1838 Militia Paylist Page

John Hargrave and his older brother Andrew are listed on the Châteauguay County 1838 Militia Paylist Page. John was a private in Captain Ainslie's Company (Williamstown Beechridge) and Andrew was in Captain Robinson's Company at Norton Creek (Williamstown). Andrew moved to Illinois around 1860 and later to Oregon where he died in 1882. He is buried in the Yamhill Cemetery. John died in 1874 and is buried in the Beech Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
